Childhood was fun, eh?
We've never saved the seeds of those giant bursting flowers before, though. My sister-in-law as well as I planted a garden this year, as well as I knew correct away I wanted to salve the seeds to endeavour roasting them up.
Little did I know that the seeds nosotros planted would grow upward to explode into ten FEET TALL giants amongst heads the side of a giant serving platter. I saved a couple, dried them out, rinsed them off, boiled them up, dried them off, toasted them up, as well as and thus BAM nosotros had a heaping pile of amazing salty sunflower seeds. We've been snacking on them ever since! I didn't realize how slow it was (yes, fourth dimension consuming, but its non similar I had to sit down at that topographic point as well as sentinel them the whole time), to brand these. They also terminal a actually long time. I made these a few weeks ago, as well as they notwithstanding sense of savour every bit crispy/salty/fresh every bit the twenty-four hr menses they were finished roasting. YUM!!
